Earlier this month, Xiaomi revealed that the next flagship device, Xiaomi Mi 12, will Sport Qualcomm New Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 when released. Now, the company has revealed a plan to debut the Xiaomi 12 series which runs in the latest version of the special MIUI skin next week.

According to a post distributed on Weibo Xiaomi’s account, as well as a tweet from Xiaomi PR, MI 12 and MI 12 Pro both will be equipped with Snapdragon 8 to provide the device “faster and more stable”. Livestream’s debut will begin on December 28, 2021 at 19:30 Beijing Time (BJ) and will include more details about the upcoming device. On the debut of its newest device, Xiaomi will also showcase the latest version of its custom android skin, MIUI 13. So far only two devices have been confirmed, but maybe the Xiaomi Mi 12 series can include other smartphones running a new processor.

Although it has not been officially revealed, we have seen several leaks that match the Xiaomi Mi 12 series which can be proven to be fun for fans of the company’s device. One such leak shows that the upcoming device can display up to three 50 mega-pixel cameras, and a periscope lens.

The leak was down at the end of August, when a digital chat station sharing updates on Weibo claimed that the phone would be launched with a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP telefoto camera. Leakers also noted that Telefoto cameras can support zoom up to 5x using a periscope system.

Previously Xiaomi Mi 11 offered a 64MP main camera, with a 5MP telemakro camera, and an 8MP ultrawide camera to support it. So, three 50MP cameras can be a solid upgrade for Xiaomi fans. It is also believed that the Xiaomi Mi 12 series will use the OLED screen which displays an adaptive refresh rate. Based on images distributed by Xiaomi from the upcoming device, it also looks like it will use the camera facing the front of the hole.
